a research project opportunity for a family practice resident

A research project opportunity is available for a family practice resident at BC Guidelines, a joint committee of BCMA and the Ministry of Health that develops clinical practice guidelines for BC physicians. The resident will help design and conduct a project tailored to their interests that would fit within the current guidelines in development (e.g. Hypertension, CVD, Depression, Cognitive Impairment, Breast and Colon Cancer Screening). Projects could include evaluation of guideline impact on BC patients using Ministry data, identifying gaps in care and/or conducting literature review and critical appraisal of guidelines. Please visit BC Guidelines for a complete list of current guidelines and background information about the committee.

Residents will be expected to work with research officers and medical consultants at the Ministry of Health and be active participants in guideline working groups with leading physician experts from across the province. There will also be exposure to collaborative committee work and how the health care system operates at various government levels.

All travel-related expenses will be funded by the BCMA and the Ministry of Health (TBC).
