Four department of family practice members recently received Fraser Health’s Above and Beyond Award for 2015. The four recipients are: Sonia Singh, Joshua Greggain, Kenneth Hirst and Amber Taylor.
Each year, Above and Beyond Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Fraser Health employees, physicians and volunteers. The Fraser Health values- respect, caring and trust – are part of who they are on a personal and professional basis, and it shows in their exemplary commitment to the people they serve.
Dr. Sonia Singh is the Program Medical Director, Research at Fraser Health and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Practice, UBC. She is the first physician at Fraser Health to design, develop and implement her own grant-funded research program, but what is most remarkable about Dr. Singh’s research program is the impact it is having on seniors.
Dr. Joshua Greggain is the Site Medical Director at Fraser Canyon Hospital and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Family Practice, UBC. He is loved by employees, fellow physicians and the Fraser Canyon community. Knowledgeable, supportive and full of humour, he, as a person, is as vital to his community’s health as are his services.
Dr. Kenneth Hirst is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Practice, UBC. Dr. Hirst’s approach to get patients “out of bed and moving” has sparked a culture shift at Chilliwack General Hospital. As a strong community leader, he engages physicians and hospital teams to continually improve quality care.
Ms. Amber Taylor is the Program Coordinator for Family Medicine at Chilliwack General Hospital. Described as a second mother, she looks out for the health and well-being of her residents so they can focus on providing the best patient care.
