June 2010 Workshop

Bringing together public health, corrections, and communities

The Collaborating Centre for Prison Health and Education will be facilitating an upcoming workshop that aims to bridge public health, community and corrections sectors in discussion on prison and prisoner health. The workshop will focus on successful initiatives in public health, correctional health, and mental health in federal, provincial, and territorial jurisdictions, and will build on these examples to develop strategic action plans to improve the health of incarcerated persons, and to reduce the gaps and inequities in health care and reintegration.

The Workshop Advisory Committee is a group committed to advising the Workshop Implementation Committee on the content, vision, and themes for this event. This group includes members from public health sectors, corrections, and the community. A complete list of advisory and organizing members is available from the Terms of Reference document.
