Assistant or Associate Professor, Department of Family Practice
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia invite applications for a full-time, grant-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of health systems improvement. This position is based in Vancouver, BC and is contingent upon successful receipt of a salary award.

The incumbent will provide leadership in the field of health systems improvement; seek grants and funding for research and evaluation studies; develop and manage their own research program; foster research in collaboration with leadership within the department and other stakeholders. The incumbent will also seek to share findings through publications, presentations and other knowledge transfer activities, and support the design of a BC Family Practice Research Network. They will collaborate with various parties including internal and external researchers, stakeholders and national and international bodies. In addition, the incumbent will contribute to the UBC undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs.
The successful candidate will have a record of accomplishments that demonstrates excellence in medical education, research and clinical practice. Applicants must have an MD with CCFP certification, must be eligible for licensing in the Province of British Columbia, including a minimum of 1-2 years of research or evaluation experience in health services research. A broad range of research interests will be considered for this position. Applicants will have experience in clinical teaching as well as teaching residents/faculty. A working knowledge of the BC healthcare system would be preferred.
The anticipated start date is September 1, 2011 or upon a date to be mutually agreed. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
