- The British Columbia College of Family PhysiciansThe UBC Department of Family Practice is proudly partnered with the British Columbia College of Family Physicians (BCCFP).The BCCFP serves as the BC Chapter for the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), the national professional organization of family physicians, which establishes the curriculum for family practice education, accredits residency programs, and sets and conducts national certification exams. The BCCFP offers Awards of Excellence to family physicians in BC for their work in the community, as well as for teachers and researchers of family medicine. The BCCFP provides a family medicine voice to many organizations – both health and government funded – that would normally not have such representation.In addition to granting research funds to BC family physicians, the BCCFP offers the Department of Family Practice awards for educational activities including student and resident research projects, clinical scholarships, and annual financial awards to both undergraduates and residents. The BCCFP continues to sponsor the Department of Family Practice’s annual Departmental Research Day, annual Resident leadership awards, and our undergraduate Family Medicine Interest Group.
