Dr. Rob Lloyd-Smith has won two prestigious UBC Awards for his contributions to the UBC community


Known for his expertise, compassion and quiet determinism

, Dr. Rob Lloyd-Smithis the recent recipient of two well-earned UBC awards.

Dr. Rob Lloyd-Smith is a new inductee to the UBC Sports Hall of Fame for his work as Head, Sports Medicine Physician for the UBC Thunderbirds Sports Teams. He has been Head team Physician since 1982 and has played a critical role in many Thunderbird national team championships.

Cross-appointed in Sports Medicine and Student Health Services, Dr. Rob Lloyd-Smith is also the recipient of the 2013 President’s Service Award for his outstanding contributions to the campus community. Dr. Lloyd-Smith has given tirelessly to UBC and to our Department, more specifically.  In addition to his many responsibilities, Dr. Lloyd-Smith is also the Director of Education for the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre and oversees the Enhanced Skills, Sports Medicine Fellowship program.
